About ByMans.me

ByMans.me is a personal website created and maintained by Mansour Gilasgar. It is used to publish browser extensions and small practical tools.

At present, the website does not sell products, offer paid subscriptions, create visitor accounts, operate a newsletter, or provide forms that ask visitors to submit personal information. If this changes, this page will be updated before the new feature is introduced.

This page covers two separate areas:

  • How the ByMans.me website is hosted and delivered
  • How individual apps handle the content entered into them

Website-wide information is identified below. Information under an app’s name applies only to that app.

When you visit ByMans.me

Cookies

ByMans.me does not use cookies for analytics, advertising, accounts, purchases, or user preferences.

Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies when needed to protect the website, such as when a visitor is presented with a security challenge. These cookies support security and are not set by ByMans.me for analytics or advertising.

Valuation Lab uses browser local storage to save app data. Local storage is separate from cookies and is explained in the Valuation Lab section below.

Website analytics

ByMans.me uses Cloudflare Web Analytics on the main website. Cloudflare automatically adds a small browser beacon to measure aggregate page usage and performance.

According to Cloudflare, Web Analytics does not use cookies or browser storage, fingerprint visitors, or track individual visitors across websites. Cloudflare may also provide server-side traffic statistics based on requests handled by its network.

The analytics do not contain content entered into the apps, such as Valuation Lab cases, figures, imported files, saved results, or uploaded logos.

Hosting requests

ByMans.me and its web apps are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When a browser requests a page, image, or script, Cloudflare receives ordinary technical request information such as the IP address, requested URL, browser information, and timestamp.

Cloudflare processes this information to deliver and protect the website. The legal basis for using this hosting infrastructure is the legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website. Cloudflare describes its handling and retention of technical information in its privacy policy.

Website hosting requests do not contain content stored inside the apps, such as Valuation Lab cases, figures, imported files, saved results, or uploaded logos.

Links to GitHub, LinkedIn, extension stores, and email open those services directly. Their privacy policies apply after you follow a link.

Privacy in individual apps

Different apps may store or process different types of content. The information below applies only to the app named in each subsection.

Valuation Lab

Valuation Lab performs its calculations in your browser. ByMans.me does not receive or store your valuation inputs, imported files, uploaded logos, saved cases, drafts, or valuation results.

Valuation Lab uses the browser’s local storage for:

  • Cases and their details, including uploaded logos
  • The selected default case
  • Saved valuation runs
  • Draft inputs on the Valuation tab
  • Data imported from project and case files
  • Guided-tour status and the version of the intro notice already shown

This information remains in the same browser profile until you delete it in the app or clear the site’s browser storage. Since it is not sent to ByMans.me, the site cannot recover or delete it for you.

The app does not encrypt local storage or exported files. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to read locally saved information. Files you export, copy, print, or share are handled by the device or service you choose.

Valuation Lab technical requests

When Valuation Lab starts, and roughly every 45 minutes while the tab remains open, it contacts valuation.bymans.me/api/session to confirm that it is running from its official address. The request body is empty and does not contain valuation data, case files, or an app-generated user identifier.

Valuation Lab is built with Flutter. If a character is not covered by its included fonts, Flutter may request a fallback font from fonts.gstatic.com. Google receives the ordinary technical information associated with that request, but not content entered into the app.

Other apps and extensions

Privacy information for Fixito, Mark & Prompt, SnapFold, and other published extensions is provided on each app’s page or extension-store listing. Those statements apply to the named app rather than automatically applying to every product on ByMans.me.
